Sexuality and Aging:
Rediscovery Later in Life
An essential course for sexuality professionals who can expect to serve more older adults in their professional practice. This course is for therapists, educators, and clinicians at all levels of expertise. The distinct perspectives of three presenters (sex educator, sex therapist, medical doctor) allows participants to thoroughly explore the nature of sexual expression in older adults. While common challenges will be addressed, the presentation is sex positive, pleasure oriented and emphasizes solutions and resources for both clients and care professionals. Learners can expect to come away with a detailed understanding of the biological, psychological, and social factors influencing healthy sexuality in older adults, as well as some helpful exercises and resources for working with this population. The format will feature lecture/slide, panel discussion, and interactive segments, including joint exercises and time for individual questions.
