Course Objectives
After reading Sensate Focus in Sex Therapy, the learner will:
- Understand how the fundamental skills learned in Sensate Focus 1 are essential to the development of Sensate Focus 2 so that these ideas can be shared with clients, optimizing effectiveness.
- Relate the precise instructions and implementation of Sensate Focus 1 and 2 to clients as a treatment modality in sex therapy.
- Determine when and how to use Sensate Focus for each of the DSM-V sexual diagnoses and construct adaptions for diverse populations.
- Manage common obstacles in the implementation of Sensate Focus.
- Use Sensate Focus with clients who have psychological and physical concerns by demonstrating psychoeducation to challenge limiting beliefs about sexuality and using physical adaptions as necessary.
Total CE Hours: 4
Exam and Evaluation
You are required to take an exam to demonstrate that you read and understood the material. This course contains one exam and one evaluation. You will have three tries to pass the exam at 80% or better. Once you complete the course evaluation, you will be able to automatically download your certificate of completion.
